Description

P-TEC 8400 is a 100% solid, thixotropic and low density polyurethane repair paste for the repairing of wood. This product is used for fast repairing of CNC machined molds or prototypes made out from polyurethane boards or wood which show fissures, voids or any defects to the surface. The P-TEC 8400™ can also be of good help to repair damaged edges and design modification.

This product can also be used as an adhesive to structurally assemble polyurethane boards and wooden panels among others.

Applications

Both parts must be thoroughly mixed according to the mixing ratio indicated on this technical data sheet. Before use, check that the support is free of any dust, grease or pollution. During processing, pot life and time before sanding may vary depending on the ambient temperature.

The exothermic that will develop during hardening varies with the thickness of product applied, up to a maximal value of 79ºC (174ºF)

Advice

Test is necessary when using painting in order to verify compatibility between the putty and the primer.

  • Products

    P-TEC 8400™ is a low density polyurethane repair paste ideal to fill cracks, voids or knots.  Easy mixing ratio of 1A/1B volume, the P-TEC 8400™ can be sanded in less than 20 minutes.

    Mix both parts thoroughly to obtain a uniform color. Once the two parts are thoroughly mixed together, you have 4 minutes to apply the product at 72F (22C).

    Once ready to sand, Use a 120 sandpaper to begin with to erase the rings around the cracks and finish up with the 150 sandpaper.

  • Questions

    • Is the P-TEC 8400 food safe?

      YES! The P-TEC 8400 is a Polyurethane paste 100% Solid and 0% VOC. Therefore it can be use safely on charcuterie board or Serving trays. 

    • Will the P-TEC take stains and oils?

      Once fully cured the P-TEC 8400 can be light sanded and will take stains, oils and pigments that are ZERO VOC. Make sure to test on a small piece to validate the compatibility with your finishing products.

    • How high should the PTE-8400 be sanded?

      We recommend 150-250 for the best results and not exceeding 400 grit for the only reason that if the P-TEC 8400 is sanded too high, the surface will become too smooth for the finishing products to link.

Description

CHILL DROPS TR (TRANSPARENT) AND OP (OPAQUE) are high quality epoxy  base reactive pigments to use with our different                          CHILL EPOXY™ solutions.

Without any VOC, alcohol, water and totally reactive, in opposition of what is actually offered in the market, the CHILL DROPS TRANSPARENT and CHILL DROPS OPAQUE are the only recommended pigments to use with the CHILL EPOXY solutions for a pure long lasting color.

Applications

Store CHILL DROP OPAQUE on a shelf (do not store directly on the floor) @ 22C (72F) with relative humidity less than 60%. A cold environment will increase the viscosity of the pigment and a warmer environment will decrease it.

This is an extremely concentrated color pigment. We suggest the user to determine the amount of pigment to add to the mixture by adding gradually a few drops to the mixture A/B.

Advice

Make sure to shake well before use. Be sure to wipe the bottle with isopropyl alcohol to keep it clean.

    Without any VOC and totally reactive, in opposition of what is actually offered in the market, the CHILL DROPS TR and CHILL DROPS OP are the only recommended pigments to use with the CHILL EPOXY solutions.

    The CHILL DROPS  are highly concentrated  which will easily pigment your different CHILL EPOXY solutions.  Just a few drops and your resin will reach a transparent, translucent or an opaque color. 

    These high quality pigments will give pure, bright and explosive colors which will resist overtime. 

    We strongly recommend to validate the percentage of pigment to be added to your resins before going on production. 

    Remember to add a small quantity at the time in order to reach the desired color.  If you want to repeat the  color, make sure to take notes of the percentage added per litre or gallons.

    We recommend to start the coloration with a very low percentage of 0,0250% in weight to 3.0%.  You can also pigment the resin from drop to drop until the desired color.

Chill 3D

Chill 3D™

1:1 ratio Transparent epoxy resin for doming effects, countertop or thin layers

Description

CHILL 3D™  is a 100% reactive Epoxy System with medium viscosity and high ultraviolet resistance.

The CHILL 3D™  allows to give depth and brilliance to your artistic canvas, countertop or other substrates such as concrete, wood, metals among others.

Ideal for “lacing effects” and “beach scenes” on wooden surfaces.

The CHILL 3D™  is the ideal product for thiner layers and can be poured up to 0.5 inch thick. Its thixotropic characteristics makes it possible to stabilize the pigments and avoid a separation in the casting.

Its pot life of 60 mins at 22C/72F also allows fast handling time, depending on the density and design of the piece.

This system also meets the European RoHS standard.

Applications

Store CHILL 3D™ on a pallet (do not store directly on the floor) or shelf @ 22C/72 with relative humidity less than 60%. A cold environment will increase the viscosity of each part A and B and a warmer environment will decrease it.

Before using CHILL 3D™, be sure to mix each Part A and Part B. Minimize air formation as much as possible by gently mixing for a minimum of 8 to 10 minutes with a metal spatula.

Mix exactly 1 parts of A with 1 part of B by volume (or 100 A / 85 B by weight) and make sure to mix evenly, making sure to scrape the edges and the bottom of your container.

Since the pot life of the system is 60 minutes @ 22C/72F  for a mass of 200 grams, be sure not to mix more material that can be applied within the pot life time.

It is important to note that the pot life time will be shortened in a warmer environment and will be lengthened in a cooler environment. The handling time will reflect the temperature level. Also, the greater the amount of resins to be mixed, the shorter the pot life time will be.

Uncured material can be easily cleaned using Isopropyl alcohol or T-901 solvent.

  • Products

    The CHILL 3D™ is an easy of 1-1 ratio in volume that was initially designed for artists or for countertop designs. This epoxy solution because of its slightly higher viscosity will allow you to created 3D effect on canvases, wooden surface or different artistic pieces.

    It is commonly used for thin layers over charcuterie boards and use to create lace effects or beach scenes using different colors.  With its Pot life of 60 minutes at  72°F, you will have plenty of time to mix and create your next masterpiece.

    CHILL 3D™ is also used as a doming to protect specific area of an electronic card.

  • Questions

    • How thick can the CHILL 3D be poured?

      The CHILL 3D is the ideal product for casting up to 0.500 inches thick. Its characteristic of thixotropy makes it possible to stabilize the pigments and to avoid a separation in the casting.

    • Do I need to use an heat gun or torche with the CHILL 3D 1:1 ratio?

      Even if the CHILL 3D is higher in viscosity than all our other epoxy solutions, it doesn’t any heat sources to get rid of the bubbles. The bubbles will pop on their own within minutes.
